Holiday's are approaching!
October is almost over....Holy Crap 2012 is almost over!!! In my world the holiday season has started full force. Not sure if other people notice/realize but holiday baking stuff was on full display since October 1st...I spent way to many hours building a display and now my hours at work have been used to keep this holiday baking display full.
I am so excited this year for the holidays...between the fact that the Man will be home to celebrate with me and that we get to start our own family holiday traditions with Jackson!!!!! I mean seriously I really did enjoy having Nicki around last year for Thanksgiving and Black Friday Shopping but KFC just isn't the same as an amazing Thanksgiving day meal.
Last year was the first year I ever went Black Friday Shopping and let me tell you I scored some really awesome deals! Most of them were actually ordered online for either a black friday or cyber monday sale. With wanting to give Jackson an amazing Christmas I am really hoping to get some great deals on Black Friday or Cyber Monday again. I have already created a Christmas list for Jackson using Amazon...did you know that you can add things to an Amazon wish list from other websites and that you can share your wish list with select people, the public or keep it private! My Dad has already asked me what Jackson wants/needs for Christmas so I have already sent the link out to a few people. The other great thing about the Amazon list is that the products that are on the list from Amazon let me know if the price is cheaper than when I first added the product to the wish list....this is the part that I am hoping helps me get awesome deals during the holiday sales!
The Man and I also have a pretty big gift that we want to get for ourselves as a Christmas/Anniversary gift...a new tv. The tv we have picked out is the LG 55 inch Google tv.....currently it is WAY out of our price range but I am crossing my fingers that in a month it will be there!
I really really enjoy finding and giving people gifts that I think they will enjoy. I already have purchased a few Christmas gifts for people and have been searching for other potential gifts to help make other people's holidays just as amazing as mine!!
Well this is enough rambling about stuff that really doesn't matter :)

Lunch Date
Today I was lucky enough to go on a lunch date with the Man and Jackson. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and then Ikea....I know we live on the edge :) It was great getting out of the house and doing things we did before Jackson was here. Jackson enjoyed eating some celery & a super plain boneless wing. I really hope that the Man and I can try and make it a weekly habit to get out of the house and go on a so called 'date'. We don't have a lot of extra time together which makes doing this hard but even more important.
Funny Stuff
I took this video this morning on my phone. I almost peed myself trying not to laugh while I was recording it. Enjoy!
He is so close to crawling it is scary!!
2nd Trip to WI a.k.a. Mom & Bill's Wedding!
I realize that I still haven't posted anything from our trip that we took in August back to WI but here are some photos that I took on my phone from our recent trip. Jackson & I went back for a short 4 days for my Mom & Bill's wedding which was Jackson's 6 month birthday. We had an amazing time and wish we could have stayed longer and that Josiah could have came! I hope to post more about the wedding but if not, it was a great day and I am extremely happy for my Mom & Bill! Congrats again :)

6 Months Old!
Let me tell you things are happening in this household!! not that any of you that actually read this would know since blogging has really taken a backseat to everything.
Jackson is now 6 months old!! actually he is now about 6 1/2 months
This sweet baby boy could not make me more proud or happier. On our recent trip back to WI his 2nd bottom tooth popped through. thank goodness because the wakeful nights that came with these two teeth was not cool He is growing like a beast, I do not have stats for you since we haven't made his 6 month well check yet don't ask about that stupid situation! He can for the most part sit up on his own he hasn't learned to catch himself from falling so he still face plants it and he is extremely close to crawling!!
I will stop with the words now and get onto the pictures I am pretty sure that is the only reason anyone reads this thing :)

The Start of our BLW Journey
Last week Monday the Man and I decided that we thought Jackson was ready to start eating food. He sits up on his own pretty well and tries to eat EVERYTHING within his site/reach.
Since we started this Monday morning at breakfast the first food we gave Jackson to try was toast with cream cheese spread on top, cut into 4 strips. We took the bread and put it in the toaster on the bagel setting so it only toasted it on the one side. Which made it not super hard but yet not like normal bread that would get stuck on the roof of his mouth. At first Jackson was just picking it up and kind of playing with it. Then he saw the Man and I eating our toast, so he started putting it in his mouth! Overall I think he really liked it. He made a complete mess but that comes with the Baby Led Weaning, BLW, territory and he didn't 'really' eat any of it....which is also expected. If I didn't mention it yet probably notslightly extremely scatterbrained lately! with the BLW process/method Jackson will still get all of his nutrients from his formula and it will probably continue to be this way until he is around a year. We gave him a few different foods that day for lunch & supper but stuck to those same 3 foods for the next couple of days to watch for allergic reactions. In the past week Jackson has had the following foods sometimes prepared a different way than the first time he had them: toast w/cream cheese, toast w/apple spread, apples, bananas, plums, red peppers, green beans, carrots, peas in pod, homemade pumpkin cinnamon pancake, sweet potato and hamburger. Wow by this list he has really tried a lot of foods already!! The only one he really didn't seem too fond of was the banana....the rest of them he seemed to really like, some more than others.
Here are some photos from his first week of trying food!

The 3 above are all from the 1st food we gave him: toast w/cream cheese spread
I can't wait to see him continue to eat and try new foods! This week he even swallowed parts of some of the foods....the gagging part is probably the hardest part for me. But gagging is a good thing, it teaches him how much he can put in his mouth and if he is gagging he is still breathing :) Actually the gagging does not seem to bother him at all. He will gag and cough a piece of food up that went a little to far back and then he just smiles and puts some more in his mouth!!
I am hoping to do more individual posts about the foods he tries and how he reacts to them and the different ways they are prepared.
