Long time coming

So life happened and blogging didn't for a long time...sorry, kind of

Here is some of what happened and hopefully maybe if I get a huge burst of energy I will go into more depth on some of these events in other posts.

~ My Dad came to visit the end of February/beginning of March. It was awesome to have him here. He helped a ton with Jackson and even watched him so the Man and I could go on a little date!

~ The Man joined a geek club at school....apparently our schedules weren't busy enough so he thought we should add another thing to the agenda.  In all reality I am really happy that he joined this club, he loves it and it gives him some time to himself that isn't work or school, its just fun.

~ The Man was scheduled to go on a 1 week det for Navy Reserves. He has to do 2 weeks every year. After finding out he was going about 3-4 weeks before he was suppose to leave and getting lucky enough that the Man's Mom could come out and watch Jack so I didn't have to take a weeks worth of vacation to sit at home with the little man. Two days before he was suppose to leave that changed and now he is going for 2 weeks in the beginning of June. And that's life in the military

~ Like I said above my Mother-In-Law was a saint and took off of work to come out in the middle of March and watch Jackson with very short notice. Even though the Man didn't end up leaving it was amazing having her out here. She helped did all of our laundry for us and also agreed to watch Jack so we could have another little date!

~ Easter happened! Jackson's technically 2nd Easter, last year he came home from the hospital Easter Sunday. The Man had to work, Jackson had a cold, and I ended up getting one of the worst flu's ever that night. Jackson loved his Easter basket and didn't mind that we didn't end up having a special meal or anything else.

~ We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary! We didn't do anything to special but the Man did have off of work so we were able to have an at home date night together after Jackson went to bed and it was perfect!

~ Jackson had his 1st birthday!!!!! Yep that's right we have a toddler in our house now.  The Man had drill on his birthday so Jack and I spent the day together playing and just hanging out. When the Man got home we did cake & presents. It was simple but I don't think Jack minded.

~ Family Vacation!!! The Man and I both took a couple days off of work and headed to the ocean this past week. We rented a fully furnished condo for 2 nights...it was incredibly relaxing! The only thing that could have made it better would have been if Jackson wouldn't have gotten sick.

Well that pretty much summarizes all the extra things that happened in my life besides the normal work, baby, husband, house duties.  I am hopeful that I will get at least some pictures up from some of these events but bare with me since my Mom arrives on Friday and I have a huge work thing happening next week.

Recovering!!

So I have determined that blogging on a regular basis is not my strong suit. Since getting back from our vacation almost a month ago things have been a little on the crazy side.

This is how a typical 'vacation' to WI goes: Spend 2-3 weeks before the trip getting all of our ducks in a row, airport picks/drop offs, the suitcase situation, what days we will spend where & with who, getting everything done for work a head of time, cleaning the house trust me coming home to a super clean house is one of the most amazing things after a vacation! Then comes the actual vacation and that includes seeing and trying to get quality time with about 100 people in a 10 day span all while doing everything in our power to have a relaxing time with people we do not get to spend nearly enough time with.  Once we are back home things are pretty similar to the 2-3 weeks prior to the trip....trying to catch up on work and fix the problems that occurred, catching up on laundry, getting back into a good routine.

Needless to say we are still working on all those things!  Clothes are still in suitcases, our bedroom looks like a washer or dryer threw-up in it, still trying to get back into the swing of things Josiah starting school last week didn't help this any and I have been playing catch-up at work since the first day back!!

I really think that we are finally getting into a pretty solid routine and that I am caught up at work at least as caught up as I will ever be With everything else starting to get back to our 'normal' routine I think blogging will finally be able to come back into it.

So here's to making the rest of the year more productive in the blogging world!

Happy Belated Birthday to The Man!!

I know it's a little late but I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to one of the most amazing people I know.  I am extremely lucky to have him in my life. He really does make me a better person and is a better father to Jackson than I could have ever imagined.  I can only hope that 26 is as good to him as I feel 25 was. I am really glad that the Man was able to celebrate his birthday back home in Wisconsin.  We had an amazing meal at Royal Tokyo with some great friends and then followed that up with a few cocktails & a classic game of darts at the local watering hole.

While in WI we took Jackson swimming at the local hotel's pool...he LOVED it!!

its time for a VACATION!!!

In case anyone actually reads this or checks this blog on a daily basis I thought I would let you all know that I probably won't get any blog posts done until after I return from our 10 day vacation in Wisconsin!!  And I am sure I will have tons to fill you in about seeing as we will be flying with a 4 month old for the very first time...eeek!!!!

OH just a few random things I should have posted about but haven't had time with getting ready for this trip:

1.) Jackson is 4 months old!!  Crazy, I know.  He is a beast....weighing in at 15 lbs. 12 oz. 25 in. long.  If you couldn't tell by the pictures, the kid has a huge head I mean that in the nicest way possible! It is 42.5 cm!

2.) The new schedule seems to be working pretty well....some days are harder than others.

3.) If the first paragraph didn't fill you in we are going to Wisconsin!! This will be Jackson's first time meeting a ton of people and only his 2nd time seeing all of his Grandparents...that kind of makes me sad

Alright well I have to go get ready for work so I can get back to the house to pack all of our bags since we are out of here in less than 24 hours!!!!

Adios Amigos :)

Monday Market

So this past week Nicki and I were lucky enough to have our Dad come visit us.  While he was here we did a few different things.  One of the small adventures we had was going to the Monday Market in the neighboring town.  I have always wanted to go but was honestly to scared to go by myself...so I made my Dad and Nicki check it out with me.

The Monday Market is a flea market type event that happens every Monday from 6 a.m. till 2 p.m. Because it is there EVERY Monday I didn't think it would be a very large thing but was I ever wrong!  This was probably the largest flea market I have ever been too.  I wish I would have taken more pictures of how many people were there shopping and with booths set up.  You could buy things like fresh fruit & veggies, spices, clothes, purses, jewelry, new furniture, garage sale type items, dish network, or if you really wanted there were a couple people selling birds.  It was crazy and never ending.  We ended up purchasing some oranges, grapes and churros.  Oh and we also tried Cocos Frios....it is a cup of cut up fruit (we had watermelon) that they then put some spices and lime juice on top of it the only reason we tried it was when I first moved here someone told me that I had to try cocos frios because it was amazing....They were wrong!  Watermelon should not be spicy and salty with a hint of lime.  So we ended up throwing most of it away but at least I can say I tried it.

Ok enough with the words and on to some photos!
